The recruiter and you: how to work together
by Management Recruiters International
If you are considering using a recruiter to help you find
that perfect job, here are few of the basic facts you need
to know about recruiters and how they work for you.
1. The recruiter's job is to fill a client's open position.
2. You should see your recruiter as a part of your personal
job-search network.
Choose a recruiter who:
- works in your field of specialty
- deals with the level and type of position you want
- has a stellar reputation within your industry
- passes a reference check
Maintain a relationship with your recruiter by:
- giving information updates of your achievements and accomplishments
- having periodic contacts but don't waste their time
- expecting a give-and-take relationship
Avoid recruiters who:
- shows unethical behavior
- charges a fee for their service
- release your resume without permission
- have a personal chemistry that doesn't click with yours
